Try Fishing A Clear Day

Earlier this week on Trout Lake we were trying to fish walleye in deep 15-20' of water with little success. So being creative fishermen that we can be we went to fish smallies in the shallows. Much to our suprise we found walleyes in 5-7' of water and as we got close they slowly swam out deeper. With rods ready we through a jig and minnow their way and started to catch 8 eyes in about 3 hours and in a number of different areas. I guess if you look in areas that may seem strange you might find some gems and a new way to fish successfully.

If the fish aren't in the areas that they should be, look where they shouldn't be and you might suprise yourself and your fishing partner.

Catch and release,
