On wednesday and Thursday Zach and I went to pokegama and set up to troll crank baits for pike and walleyes. In the afternoon we trolled 30 feet down in 50 feet of water for pike and in 2 days we caught 8-10 pike with the biggest over 7 pounds. At dusk we switched to shallow baits and trolled for eyes and landed 12-15 in 2 evenings of fishing. A great ways to pass the time drinking beer and fishing TOOOOO. We also got to see this burning sunset!

Go out and have some fun experimenting...too much fun,

Zach is looking at a guiding job on Sunday so we were out fishing Winnie to find a couple of spots holding fish where he can bring his customers. He found this 25" fish on one of the flats we tried....Nice fish on a hot day!

On a very hot and calm day on Winnie this Wednesday I caught this 22" walleye on a crawler lindy rig set-up.

Zach is holding a 22" walleye from Trout Lake, we fished on a very windy day and even though we found fish we couldn't put ourselves in a position to catch them....TOO windy. We had fun running from spot to spot looking for them though.

Rainey Lake...What A Trip!!

Rainey Lake what a great vacation destination, you have miles of water to fish and enough islands to hide behind to get lost from the crowds. Well after that intro this last weekend Zach, Ken and myself spent a picture perfect fishing trip on Rainey Lake….almost. The fishing was spectacular with most places yielding some fish and on a few reefs we found large numbers of fish biting anytime during the day. The camp site as you’ll see was picture perfect with a sand beach and a high rock point for a breeze that kept the bugs away.

We jumped from one rock pile to another and saw the sites the lake had to offer. On the way home we tried come up with a number of fish caught on the weekend and a safe number would be 75. We caught enough eating sized fish to have 3 meals and brought home some nice fish also. I know it took Zach a lot of talking to get his Dad to commit to the trip but last I heard Ken is up for another sometime. WOOHOO! We all had a great time.

I hope you enjoy a portion of the pics that were taken this weekend, also go to the “my video” link to watch Ken land a walleye with a rigged crawler.

From another great fishing trip,

After working all night, the drive and a full day of fishing, not to mention frying my hands with oil while frying fish. This Crispy dude was about out of gas when this picture was taken. I see and show all.

I don't know what happened to the rest of this picture. I was fishing and Tika figured that I needed a dog in my lap to help me catch more fish. I know Zach hasn't told her yet that she is a dog, maybe in the near future.

One of the many nice fish caught by Z. I know he had at least a 2 to 1 catch rate over Ken and I.

I got alot of ribbing for wearing this fishing hat. I remembered last year on Rainey when we sat for 2 days in 80's and 90's and got fried. This silly Iowa shit kicker hat kept my neck and face from burning. It didn't keep me from catching enough fish either.

Ken got to be a real killer at rigging crawlers.
