FISHHOUSE CHRONICLES: March 2009

Three Canadians were pushing their boat acroos the ice to fish. Looking at them without lifejackets I think they were nuts, with all the current I can't imagine how much ice they were standing on! Well sometimes STUPID is succesful....THEY DIDN'T FALL IN!

The ice was jammed about 3 miles west of the landing. The current their was amazing.

Zach did catch a fish. This was a nice 22" eye that had to be released.

Coach LaCoe's Grandmother, Grandfather, and Uncle Mike settled in before the game.

Grand Rapids Girls Return to the State Basketball Tournement

A trip to the State tourney is every high School players dream but a second for most of these girls is a highlight. The girls played hard, but the outcome was not in their favor. Congrats girls for a excellent year and may all your post high school goals be acccomplished as you move through your carreers!

Grand Rapids Girls Win the Region 7 AAA Basketball Tournament

It was a long season for the girls with enough ups and downs to give their parents more than a few sleepless nights, but in the end they played great and are returning to State. CONGRATS GIRLS! Now you have to gear up and take your game to the next level.

The first game will be on Wednesday March 18 in Williams Arena on the campus of the U of M. I'm sure the fans will turn out to cheer you on. Play your best girls and know that you've accomplished what most only dream of.
