Time to empty my camera....Enjoy

Well I thinks its time for a post so that you know thyat I can still publish pictures without fish in them. I have some action shots taken during the CHS 2006 prom, and then some family shots. Alyssa and Donovon and the kids came home this weekend. D's dad Ted has terminal cancer and a visit was needed by all the family, ours prayers are with the family.

Unfortunately they are up during a week that they're predicting rain and cool weather, our spring has actually been better than what they have been seeing in California. Maybe the weatherman is wrong, hey it can happen! Anyway the visit to Minnesota will be appreciated by everyone.

Two weeks till the fishing openner and it's wader fishing time.....I can hardly wait. Again I hope the weatherman can give us a great forcast because the fishing should be great this year.

:-))

My New (Used) Boat

Well I brought my boat home on the 5th of April and started to figure out a plan to install the electronics that I had purchased. Once I looked at how the boat was laid out I found that there was very little storage. The first day I just sat in my new seats and tried to picture where I wanted everything. I guess this is called the planning stage. Then I brought out the tools and started creating a mess which the pictures below will show.

After a week of work and rework I have everything in place without drilling too many holes. I am now excited to get onto the water so that I can try everything out and find the numerous mistakes that I'm sure I made. They would have to be major errors to get me to start over, it will work the way it is ....FOR SURE!!

It looks like a number of lakes will be open by the middle of next week and then onto a lake.

Stay tuned for updates,

In this mess of tools and wires there is organization and a plan, I really did know what I was doing at this point.

At the bottom of the picture I built corner speaker boxes for the radio, scattered around are the tools of the trade. I guess woodbutcher is the trade I belong to...HEHE.

Rainy Fishing

Well the trip to Rainy River fishing was not GOOD!! After 2 days of constant rain the river looked like chocolate milk in some places and where you thought it looked clear you could only see 10" before the jig vanished. We stood at the landing and boat after boat had no fish and usually no bites. We talked to 3 DNR officers and none had seen a fish on Saturday. We fished for about 4 hours in 35 degree temps and caught 3 fish...I GUESSED WE SMOKED THEM!! The trip after that got ugly so the trip home was looked forward to. Hopefully our next trip will be better.

Ice fish if you dare or wait till open water,
