This was one of the first fish caught on the trip and was unusual in that we haven't seen many walleyes with the gold belly that you see in many of the deep rocky lake in the border country. The fish from Rainey that we've seen on other trips have a grayish white belly....anyway a pretty nice fish.

This walleye was caught in 50+ feet of water on a jig and minnow, it was a strange trip indeed.

This is part of the scenery that makes Rainey Lake a popular fishing and camping destination.

Teeka was always in the boat and was usually up front as lookout.

I caught this 25" fish Friday and missed a bigger one on Saturday. The fishing was different each day. We caught fish in 40-50 feet on water in one spot and 25" in another, there was no real pattern except search and destroy if the weather allowed you to be on the water.

Nice fish, Raney Lake was fun as usual.

This is called lunch, Zach and I were lucky enough to catch 2 to 4 keepers a day so we didn't have to eat hotdogs.

We fished near this old homestead that was burned down and left this fireplace and chimney. It would be interesting to know when this was built. It looks like this fireplace may last 100 years, great craftsmanship.

Mike's girl friend Katie caught this walleye that was released after the picture was taken. With all the wind the temps were mild but the cloudless sun did get to her face and arms. Yes she should have used the sunblock on Saturday.

Zach caught alot of fish but didn't get alot of pictures taken of him holding fish. He looks good in this one tho!

Ken and I fished in my boat while Z, Katie and Mike fished in his boat. My camera stayed in his boat so he took this picture of Ken and I working to get the hook out of this eyes mouth. I guess it looked funny.

Mike caught shore lunch here, we had a meal of fish each of the 5 days Z and I were on Rainey. I think I'll go back to my meat diet for awhile, I've eaten my allotment of fish for the next 2 months!

Mike caught this eye that was too large and was released. I hope you can see the size of the waves we had to fish in, it was like a rodeo out on Rainey saturday and Sunday.

Katie and Ken pose with the northern that Ken caught trolling spoons. The fish was just over 13 pounds and gave us a shore lunch that stuffed everyone.

Zach holds up the northern that Ken caught.

Katie, Zach and Mike cruise back from the last evening of fishing. Zach and I were a little disappointed that the wind prevented us from fishing where we wanted or would have liked to fish. He wanted Katie and Mike to have 2 great days of fishing. I don't think they were disappointed, we all caught fish and enjoyed camping.
