On Wednesday I wanted to fish and called Ben at Ben's bait to see if it was worth going to Winnie to fish....He said no one he knew was going so he didn't have any reports to go on. Talked to Zach and he said try Trout lake. I did and wasn't sorry, I caught 6 eyes and 2 nice northerns for a good days catch. I caught one keeper of 16 1/2" and the other 5 were over 17" with the big one of 26". Hope to get out there on Sunday. Jackie's heading out to California tomorrow to help with Bella. She's been in alot of pain after her surgery on her broken arm.

The walleyes were in the same area as in the summer....but a little deeper go figure. With nothing to give you a size the fish all look alike ....this one was about 21".

I stayed on the lake until 4pm and this was the last fish caught......26" of fighting eye!! It was a cold day but the wind died so the temperature was bearable.

Stan and Phil let me follow them to Leech Lake and perch fish. THANKS...It was fun and the day got nice. I left when I had a dozen perch and caught 5 more trying to catch walleye on Winnie. Those 17 perch made for 2 nice meals of great fish sticks! When I left I thought I heard Phil say they had 33 perch so I'm sure they filled out.

The Winnie eyes weren't jumping into my boat, but this oversized walleye was suicidal. I guess he knew I had to let him go.

Its hard to tell but this guy was 24" and a real fatty. You know I wasn't going to let him tip over my BUD LIGHT!!

This fish had to go back. Winnie has been producing nice fish when the weather will allow you to fish. We've had crazy storms with rain and wind that won't quit. I'm hoping to get the boat out a couple more times this week before it goes into storage for the winter. Hopefully I will have a few pics for you.

Get your boats out before the snow flies, the fishing is good when you can get out.

I spent a couple of days fishing on Winnie out in front of bushy tree. Had fun and catch fish both days.

Just got home from the North Shore and a days fishing on the Baptism River. The water was too high for good fishing but I did catch a 15" brook trout. I hope you can see the great color this fish had.
