The Ice Castles Maiden Voyage

The fish house finally rolled out onto the ice as Z and I spent the last 3 days fishing Lake Of The Woods. The fishing was good but not great most of the saugers were too small to keep.
The walleyes were hard to come by but a few nice fish were caught. We set up on about 16" of ice among Adrians houses. LOW doesn't have alot of snow but if you hit a drift you could be in trouble they are hard as a rock.

I took a few pictures of fish and the house.

Till the next outing,

Zach knows how to get comfortable, not every ice house has a wheeled office chair in it.

As we get older we have a tendency to move toward the heater, I fish in front it all weekend.

We did catch some nice walleyes, here I'm holding 17 inchers. The walleyes were hard to come by but the small saugers were plentiful.

Surprise, look who's coming for dinner.

Every once in awhile you have to take a picture of the proud angler and his big catch. We ate that one, no need to waste money on a wall mount. There were really too many of those small saugers.

Home sweet home, and it was, the Ice Castle was all that we expected. The only thing that was difficult was to regulate the heat inside the house. I slept in the top bunk and didn't really need my sleeping bag because it was too warm. We have to bring a fan up next trip to move the warm air to the floor and around the house.

I love the way Adrian's fish house are named and pictured. Our road map to and from the resort was a right turn at the cow house, and look for the spider house.

Every once in awhile you see something and think (usually dangerous for me) this might make a good picture. I think it did.

Being Retired Has Made Me A Lazy Old Dog

On top of not taking alot of pictures, I'm really slow to put them onto the blog. Another excuse is that my camera is acting up and it really Pisses me off. The fishhouse will roll this weekend so I hope I will have some good pics to share with you.

Till Then,
