The DECC sport Show

Today I went to the Duluth sport show at the DECC with Rudy and Mike Vitali to visit Jeff in his Lamiglass sponsor’s booth. Being it was Saturday we were elbow to elbow with large crowds. We saw any kind of boat that can be called a fishing or pleasure craft. I think the highlight of the show was the Snobear which was a tracked bombadiar that can be lowered to the ice so that you can fish and sleep in. It had 2 beds mounted on the walls. I took a few pictures of the boats and the Snobear, I hope it gets you thinking of the summer that is fast approaching.

Enjoy and dream on,

Everyone from Minnesota has seen the arial lift bridge in Duluth, but anyone who hasn't seen it take the time next time you visit Duluth. Talk about a distinguishing landmark!!

Now here's a deal for you, they'll discount $728 on a $36,727 boat, I hope they don't go broke with all the money they throw around...HEHE!!

Rudy thought this 12' pontoon with a solar battery charger would look good on Chisholm Lake.

Cute little 2 man pontoon, with an eletric motor for power.

Here's a Lund 1900 Pro-V IFS, whatever that means. A great affordable fishing boat.

As you can see this nicely equiped Lund is only $42,491, a real sport show deal.

This was the coolest display at the sport show, it was a tracked motorized fishhouse. As you can see you can view details at www.ultimatefishouse.com . Also notice the price in the front window.....it was $29,500 without the electronics. Barebones version was only $27,000, everyone should have 2 of these.

Here's a view of the Snobear from the back door. It has 2 beds that fold-up andthe white slot on the side can have holes cut out so you can fish.

A nice walleye, but we didn't catch a perch or crappie.

Bill Hulkonen holds a nice Red Lake walleye. Sorry no crappies...SHIT...we couldn't find one of them. Hopefully later this winter they may start biting on a consistant basis.

Gettin Ready For Late Ice Crappies

I pulled the fish house back up to Red Lake expecting fishing to pick up as the melting of the coming spring gets near. I did fish this weekend but was not expecting a bonus day and I wasn't dissappointed. The crappies were not in my area and the walleyes were small. I did catch enough for a meal of perch which will find their way to the frying pan when this text gets posted.

The biggest part of my time in the house this weekend was to work on a few projects inside that have been engineered and put off.....You like that allusion the the high tech world...hehehe....Anyway I put in a couple of steps so that nobody breaks a leg trying to get into the top bunk. With a couple of projects down I created a couple of more.... :-(( . I may head up fishing and working this Thursday. Tomorrow I get to take Rudy fishing for the first time this year, I hope Island Lake can give up a few fish.

I guess I can call myself lucky with all the fishing I've done this year that the locks on the house haven't been change on my return home this year. Jackie has been very understanding, I have fished more this year and there is still more to come....I HOPE....Thank-you very much hun!! My excuse is that this is a year of nice weather that we may never see in our life time again, so far its been working.

Till my next post and better luck I hope,

The fish house was on the rode again, I stayed a safe distance away from the pressure ridge in the background.

Most of the fishermen were as close to the pressure ridge as they could get. Not this guy, open water in the middle of the lake is bad KARMA.

A few walleyes were mixed in with the perch but no walleyes.

The hope was that a few crappies would be around to bite.....WRONG...The perch fishing would have to do.
