Yesterday was probably my last day of golf in Minnesota, as you can see I was not the omly crazy golfer to brave the 15-20 MPH winds and the mid 40 degre temperatures. Sunday was so busy all the carts were rented and I can't remember that happening all year. See you next year Eagle ridge!!

Course views that you never see but are beautiful this time of the year.

Over looking the lake and the large new homes that have been built.

The course was in great shape for this time of the year, but you had to keep your ball out of the leave along some fairways. I lost about 3 or 4 balls because I didn't have time to look very hard for them.

On the 14th hole I had the resident eagle crusing over the fairway, he was alot closer at times but I was slow to get the camera out.

Rod South got picked to man the clubhouse and during the many lulls in activity he sat with his back to window trying to keep warm. See you next spring Rod.

A look at the golf course at Eagle Ridge at the end of the season. Yesterday was almost 50 degrees and probably the last day for most golfers.

Golf SQUEEZE

As the Minnesotans know the snow comes and goes....Fortunately. The temperatures this week have been nice @ mid to upper 40's, so I have golfed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and have done well. I need to extend the season some how but looking realistically at 2 or 3 more days of golfing.

Yesterday I spent all my gift certificates and purchased a 3 wheeled Bagboy golfcart....PUSH CART. The next 3 days look to be nice enough to golf, but today I may help David work on his house as I did last night. It's coming along slow but what has been done looks good and Skeeter's windows look great only the finishing work is needed.

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm still alive but have left my camera at home on my frantic fall dashes to extent fall before real winter arrives. HMMM may not be bad as the ice fishing season could be soon if these cold evenings continue.

Later all,

SNOW..SNOW And More SNOW!!

Well I just hate it when the weatherman is right, its bad enough that they said cold and some flurries, but when they said 2-4 inches that sucks. I hope they can predict nice weather and be as good at predicting some warmth when we need it.

After some shoveling, I took a ride out to the Dagel's lot on Stingy Lake, Zack has cleared a lot and will build a cabin there. I took some before pictures and will probably show the progression of building till it goes onto the market for sale.

Now I think I'll just sit here and pout thinking about the snow, I was hoping for a few more golf rounds before my California trip.

Suprise....WTF..were not in Kansas Dorothy!!

The first snow is always beautiful, BUT in the beginning of October...WAY too early.

The drive down Bower lake road, snowy looking for the 13th of October. BRRRRR!!

Looking out onto Stingy Lake from the Dagel lot. Scenic but cold looking, summer will make this a lovely, quiet spot for some lucky cabin owner.

Here's the cleared area the cabin is going to be on, two loads of sand were on the road in as I was leaving. Now the work starts to level and pack the sand down so the slab can be poured before real winter sets in.

Zach with his work toy, I guess it's an all-terrain golf cart. Needs a club rack!!

A Great Day For Golf

Well its been a busy weekend, the blog has been dead for a month and here I have 3 posts in 3 days. I wanted to go fishing today and that was the plan, but last night I was asked by Zach to golf to fill out 2 foursomes at the Wilderness. I thought about it because I haven't golfed in a month because of my back but said I'd try it. It worked out great and it was one of my best rounds of the year. I'll have to say I was well medicated and that may have helped a little but I'm going to say it was just skill on my part....HEHE!!

Anyway it was a good time had by all and I hope you enjoy the pics that follow.

Thanks Zack and Ken...Its great to have good friends that support me,

An Evening On Pelican

I promised to go fishing today and I kept my promise by fishing this evening on Pelican Lake. I searched about 2 hours for crappie but they were hard to find and tougher to catch. I went to the shallows to find walleyes and after catching bass and snakes I found a 22" walleye. I lost about 3 or 4 other fish because they were located in a rock trench and the wind made it hard to stay in the center of it. Had a great evening and a super day for fishing. It was 70 degrees out, it doesn't get any better than that.

GO TWINS!!

This was about a 31/2 pound largemouth bass, he stayed on the bottom so long I thought I had a big walleye.
